Legacy Emanuel is a Level 1 trauma, burn, and tertiary referral center in downtown Portland. We serve a broad spectrum of patients, ranging from the critically ill to the underserved who have no other options. We have a dynamic team of physicians and APP’s who work closely with a core team of experienced nurses. Emergency medicine residents from OHSU and internal medicine residents from Legacy rotate through our ED throughout the year. Our providers are a close-knit group, many of whom have worked here for over 15 years.

Legacy Good Samaritan is a community hospital situated in the middle of a bigger city.  We serve a diverse patient population, caring for Portland’s disadvantaged dual diagnosis population as well as patients from the affluent west hills with some rural flavor coming in from St. Helens in Columbia County.  Given our smaller size we know our consultants and it’s a friendly place to work.  Our work culture is one of mutual respect and teamwork, where our physicians and advanced practice providers work closely with each other in a team-based environment. We also value provider well-being with the intention of mitigating burnout in our group.

Legacy Meridian Park is a community hospital located in Tualatin, just south of Portland. Our patients encompass a broad age range (infants to super geriatric 100+ year olds) and come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.  Many of our patients see Meridian Park Hospital as their own, a cornerstone of the community, which has served multiple generations of family members.  Our ED physician group is notable for its longevity, with several ED physicians practicing at Meridian Park for 30+ years.  We also have a dedicated, experienced nursing staff with relatively low turnover.  We have responsive imaging and lab departments with quick turnaround times. We also enjoy a strong collaborative relationship with our Hospitalist team.

Legacy Mount Hood is a community hospital with the second highest volume ED in the Legacy system. Located on the east side of Portland, we serve a diverse population, both urban and rural. We pride ourselves on the incredibly low turnover of our ED providers.  It’s a real “family” feel. We have great relationships with our hospitalists, intensivists, and specialists.  MH ED is unique for its modified Fast Track, the ACU (Ambulatory Care Unit).  The ACU functions as one pod of the ED with 7 rooms and one dedicated nurse and sees all ESI level 5 and level 4’s and can accommodate level 3 patients with a quick turnaround.

The Emergency Department at Randall Children’s Hospital is the largest center for pediatric care throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. Located on the same campus as the Legacy Emanuel ED, Randall Children’s Hospital is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and a Level 1 Children’s Surgery Center.  The department is staffed by 10 Pediatric Emergency Medicine board certified physicians and 6 Advanced Practice Providers.   We provide teaching and training opportunities to residents in emergency medicine and pediatrics and support a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship.

We are the second largest ED in southwest Washington, serving a diverse patient population. Due to significant space constraints, we have developed a robust provider in triage process, that allows efficient throughput, while also providing excellent care. Our close-knit provider group has a low turnover and is actively engaged in improving processes and patient care. We have a full range of specialists available to us and have strong relationships with our consultants.

Legacy Silverton is a critical access community hospital located 35 miles south of Portland. We serve a diverse population, primarily rural with some suburban. We are a level 4 trauma center. We have a cohesive core of physicians who are actively engaged in both ED and hospital operations, as well as pre-hospital care. Some of this work includes work as EMS directors, board of directors for the OMA and OCEP, Medical Staff President, President-elect and Credentials Chair. We actively look to develop leadership within our group and hold regular journal clubs. We have great relationships with our hospitalists, specialists, and nursing staff.  Our new ED is opening in March 2024.

St. Helens Urgent Care is dedicated to providing high quality care to our patients, filling a void in the area where there isn’t an ED for more than a 30-minute drive. Our site boasts a unique blend of accessibility and expertise, with a capacity of 8 beds and a commitment to being open 7 days a week, catering to approximately 10,000 patients annually. What sets us apart is our integrated approach to urgent care, connecting patients to a network of primary care providers and Legacy specialists and the ability to transfer to a higher level of care to either Legacy Good Sam or Legacy Emanuel when needed. The highly skilled PAs or NPs, all with a background in emergency medicine, treat patients of all ages. While our focus is on treating a wide range of ailments—from sprains and fractures to coughs and colds and lacerations and abscesses—we also offer basic testing services and X-rays onsite, and you’ll have access to consulting an ED physician via phone when needed.
